My name is Rebecca Mackesty and I am the "one-woman" show behind the photography company known as Blue Star Photography!
I am the photographer, the graphic artist, the photo editor and owner of Blue Star Photography. I am a portrait photographer with a Bachelor's degree in Art Education, as well as an Alumnus of Kansas State University. Go Wildcats!
I am a former high school art teacher. I taught several art mediums, two of which were graphic design and digital photography. I was a teacher for a couple of years before deciding to persue my own passion... Wedding and Portrait Photography!
For larger photography sessions I will likely bring along an assistant. Assistants will help set up equipment and posing of parties involved in the photography sessions. This helps me keep to your schedule, which is especially important for Brides and Grooms!
All Portrait requests can be customized to meet your needs. These photos can be taken at your home, on the beach, in a park or another location of your request. I will do both posed and spontaneous pictures. I want you to feel comfortable and natural in your environment to create lasting and joyous memories.
Brides and Grooms, I will work closely with you both before and after your wedding to help you capture the best memories of your special day. Photos will be both spontaneous and posed. The majority of photos will be spontaneous so that I can capture your personalities at their best! Some of the best photos happen when you forget the camera is there and are naturally having fun and smiling. I believe that a wedding that only focuses on posed photos takes away from the actual experience of a wedding! Thus, I do my best to keep the posed, time-consuming photos to a minimum so you can go out and enjoy.
