Orton Plantation, Incredible Wedding Places, Wilmington NC Wedding Photographers, Wedding Photography - 10/30/09 07:23 PM
Just finished photographing a wedding at Orton Plantation. To say it felt like I was on a movie set might be more accurate than I thought. After learning more about the history, I learned it has been featured in so many movies and television shows. This place is a wedding photographers dream.
From the classic roadway into the plantation lined with southern oaks to the story book grounds, this place has it all. Here is a picture of the roadway in. Shot with 200 (f.2)
The Chapel was perfect. Just a majestic place hidden between Wilmington NC and Southport NC.

Bald Head Weddings are sweet. Bald Head Island is such a great place to have a wedding. If you are not familiar with Bald Head Island, it is located right off the coast of North Carolina near Southport and not too far from Wilmington NC. The really cool thing about the island is that you must get there by boat and there are no cars allowed. Golf carts and bike only.
Not just sandy beaches here... most of the paths are covered in lush greenery and incredible trees. I took this shot with the help of pocket wizards. The golf cart was very special to them so I wanted to do somthing fun and put motion in the picture. I was concerned because the PW were not behaving and with the limited range with the tt5 and Canon flashes I got a bit lucky with the flash hitting right (having real consistency issues). We had about a half mile to pull this off on the way to the wedding site.
Speaking of the wedding site... how cool is this
Bald Head Island offers unlimited opportunities for a Photographer. It is a great place to get married and I really enjoy working there for the incredible scenes.

Had a great time photographing Adam & Ryan at the horse farm. We ran with the horses and really put the red barn in play. They were rock stars working with the horses. Actually, Adam is a Rock Star... really. He can really knock it out. You can read more about it here or here one of his songs in the slideshow on my blog
