Back in September, Chris and I got to be part of a very, very special wedding of some longtime friends of ours. When Kevin and Angel asked if we would photograph their wedding, we were truly beyond thrilled and honored. Their Santa Barbara wedding took place at First United Methodist Church (beautiful!) and their wedding reception was at the Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort. Here's a few of our favorites!

Denver Family Photos

It's no secret that Chris and I love getting to know amazing people and capture Love. Not just Love as we see it at a wedding, but the kind of Love that exists between parents, children, and families. We love capturing siblings playing together, babies giggling (or crying!), and parents exchanging smiles while they watch their kids roll in the grass.

Because we love capturing this kind of Love, we're shooting what we like to call Life Sessions. This is our name for family photo sessions because unlike "portraits," we want to capture life as it naturally happens. We've found that the most beautiful moments with a family happen when they don't think they're posing for the camera.

...because Life is too beautiful to be posed.

Engagement Photos in Orange County, CA

When we first started talking with Julia and Tim about their Orange County engagement session, I absolutely LOVED how excited they were about doing the photos! Julia told me that they had really envisioned doing their engagement session with an old mustang and making their shoot a little "theatrical" as she put it :) Chris and I LOVE these kinds of sessions and couldn't wait! We were so excited for their engagement session and when we met up a week or two ago, we had a total blast! Not only are they incredibly photogenic, but they are so fun and relaxed - Chris and I hardly did any directing with them because they were so good in front of the camera!

Family Photos in California

Chris and I had a whirlwind trip last week in CA and we were everywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego (and in between)! We did about 6 shoots in the course of 5 days, so needless to say, things were a bit crazy! However, we were so excited to get to shoot family photos for the King family! They are an incredibly special family who Chris and I know through our Church, and we were really honored to be able to capture them all together! They seriously have some of the sweetest kids we know, and we had so much fun!

When we arrived to meet up with the Kings, we were greeted by their son, Adam, telling us he was ready to go play on the playground! We obliged, and started out with all the kids just playing on the playground - we barely kept up with them, but did manage to grab some fun shots of them in action!

Long Beach, CA Indian Wedding!

Back in August, Chris and I traveled out to Long Beach to photograph Sheena and Mudit's beautiful wedding at the Hyatt in Long Beach. Their day was incredibly special - nearly 600 family and friends joined Sheena and Mudit for their special day and the best word I can think of to describe their incredible wedding a true celebration. The joy that was present on their big day was contagious and the entire day was absolutely amazing!

Denver Engagement Photos

Tracy and Steve are the kind of people that make you feel as though you've known them for a long time. They are sweet and easy to talk to, and as we spent time with them during the engagement session, we felt as though we were just hanging out with our friends. Tracy and Steve will be getting married in October at the Westin Riverfront Resort in Beaver Creek and we are already so excited for their big day!

We went around downtown Denver with Tracy and Steve and loved all the different, fun spots we found!

Wedding Photography in Montego Bay, Jamaica!

Back in June, Chris and I flew down for Matt and Jenn's wedding at Round Hill Resort near Montego Bay, Jamaica. We were so excited to go down and celebrate with the two of them and their family and friends who had all made the trip out for the wedding and for a few days of relaxing!

When Jenn and Matt were planning their destination wedding, they carefully chose their resort down in Jamaica and had told Chris and I how beautiful it was. However, when Chris and I arrived we were just speechless because it even more beautiful than we had imagined! Having the chance to do wedding photos here was such a dream. Round Hill is absolutely stunning - the grounds are so natural, there's a beautiful infinity pool, the ocean is incredibly blue, and each morning we had freshly made mango smoothies! :) It just doesn't get better!

Family Portraits in Santa Barbara, CA!

There are some families that are just special beyond description. The Butlers are just that. We originally got to know their family through the music department when we went to college at Westmont, but over the years have come to call them of some of our dearest friends. Earlier this month Chris was able to do some family photos with them and we just had to share some pictures we got of their sweet family!

New York Rainy Day Engagement Session in Central Park!

This past June, we had the chance to meet up with Diana and Mike to shoot their engagement session! We first talked to Diana and Mike this past winter - they are planning their beautiful wedding at Oheka Castle for this November, so we were so excited to finally meet them! The afternoon was great despite some rain and Diana showed up looking absolutely adorable in her raincoat and the two of them were such great sports about getting wet! We ended up having a wonderful time and awesome shoot!

Senior Pictures in Denver, Colorado

A couple weeks ago, we had the pleasure of doing some senior pictures for the Ede girls - about a year ago, we shot Ben and Megan's beautiful wedding in Denver, CO (and featured them in a video on our website!). Ben and Megan introduced us to the Ede family and we were able to take the girls around downtown and do some fun photos in downtown Denver!
