Venue of the Week: Catedral San Juan Bautista, Old San Juan - 02/03/10 02:22 PM
As I have shared many times before, I love Old San Juan. To me, is one of the most romantic cities in the world. Many times I walked the streets and wondered if those walls could talk, what stories would they tell. Stories of romantic conquests? of duels of Honor? political intrigue? With all the hustle and buzz of every day life, it is easy to forget that Old San Juan is over 500 years old and it has seen many wonderful and terrible pieces of our history.
Catedral San Juan Bautista (Old San Juan Cathedral) is on of such place. It is the second oldest cathedral in the new world (the oldest is at Santo Domingo) and in more than 500 years has seen its share of "famous" weddings. One of the most recent was Dayanara Torres (a Miss Universe) and popular singer-actor Marc Anthony (he since divorced and remarried to Jennifer Lopez). Still one of the favorite places for destination weddings.
