I've been doing A LOT of research on albums the past year. I do mostly Maternity, Newborn, and Kids albums. Of course I want high quality, but at the same time, most people aren't willing to spend as much on a baby or child album as they would on a wedding album. And since many of my clients come back every year to have their child photographed, I needed an economical album choice for my children's albums.

My least expensive children's album I offer is an 8x8, 20 page WHCC Press Printed hinged album. This album is $400. I really fought using these for a long time because I didn't love the gutter in the middle (I design mostly two page spreads). But in that price range, I've found it to be the best choice for colorful, exciting children's albums that my clients will buy every year. I've decided to save my 2-page spreads for my higher-end albums, and use a new design for these.

I only offer these in the UV coated pearl, and the UV coated glossy. For kids' albums, I find these to be the best finishes to really make the images pop. And the easiest to clean dirty fingerprints off of!

When I ordered my first hinged album (see example pics), I was truly impressed. It has a great look and feel to it! The glossy pearl paper is hard to photograph (sorry!), but so beautiful!

The other albums I use are Finao One, Finao Elements, Artifex, and Vision Art. I'll discuss and give examples of these next!

I love photographing moms during their pregnancy and then again when baby arrives! Here are some pics from recent maternity newborn sessons. As a photographer, it is such a privilege to witness this amazing time in their lives. The majority of my work involves these maternity newborn sessions.

Think about it - everyone hires a photographer for their wedding, yet not everyone thinks to hire a photographer for the pregnancy and birth of their child. And the birth of your child is at least as significant as your wedding - if not more! Personally, I look back at my children's baby pictures all the time, and I rarely look at my wedding photos!

My new website went live today! I had gotten a little bored of my old site, and when they wanted almost $500 to renew for a year, I decided to switch. My new site is with Bludomain, and I love it! I still need to complete a few more galleries, but for the most part, it's done. I really love the galleries and proofing galleries, because you can make your images pretty big! Feel free to check it out, and here's a pic I just took of my baby Grayce with Dad, she's now six months old! I know I keep promising, but someday I WILL put up pics of my regular sessions!
