BLURBIT ENTRY

"The Shot" on VH1 - 01/11/08 10:30 PM
Does anyone out there watch "The Shot" on VH1?? I'm not much for reality TV shows, but my friend Tracy made me watch an episode and I'm now an addict! It's so fun to see what scenario the contestants will be put up to each week... "15 minutes to get a money shot with a model and a real tarantula", or "Nail a sensual image after a massive food fight". My favorite episode yet might have been when the photographers were asked to hang off a cliff to get an action shot of a rock climber. I just love to see what each individual artist comes up with---everybody has a completely different approach to the shoot. It's pretty inspiring, believe it or not!

Maybe photographik can start coming up with assignments like this and hold contests. I'd love to see what we could all come up with! Thoughts?

Sometimes I'm just all out of fresh ideas!

After I watched the the Shot I realized that my friend julie Harris was so much more talented than the photographers on the Shot. I also realized after seeing this show how difficult it is to actually be a photographer. I have so much respect for photographers and the work that they do capturing moments of time in peoples lives and how they capture humanity. In my opinion no one does this better than Julie Harris.

That was a real fun series to watch. For reality TV I think they did a good job at keeping it interesting and not overly technical. The winner really deserved it.
