You may ask yourself, how does this benefit me, as a photographer, or me, as a potential client? Well, read on. . . I promise to make it interesting. I want to tell you about our photographer's group we started called Commonly Different. Do you want to see pics of the photographers that make up Commonly Different, well you have to visit our blog then. . . www. commonlydifferent. com
The benefit of Commonly Different goes beyond the personal satisfaction of having friends in the business. The benefits are that you as a client are guaranteed an amazing photographer. . . after all, we have to answer to our colleagues, the coordinators, the venue managers, etc. , which also happens to be our network, so. . . another benefit. . . if you call one of them and your wedding day is booked, they will refer you on to another Commonly Different member that is available, offers the same quality product and service, and is within the same price range. As a fellow photographer, let me tell you why this group was formed. . . because in our area there are numerous photographers out there that honestly, should not be doing business. . . okay, that may be harsh, but their websites should come with disclaimers anyway. I promise I am not talking about anyone on photographik or the other professional communities most of us belong to, I am talking about community-based photographers that "guarantee" complete wedding day coverage, plus albums- parent albums included, and the kitchen sink for less than minimum wage. . . I am staying vague so I don't upset anyone here, but my point is, for the same reasons you subscribe to photograpik, these are the same principals that drive our networking community, Commonly Different- to ensure a professional, quality photographer! I hope that whether you are a potential client or a colleague, you will check out Commonly Different and love the philosophy that drives each of us :)

Well, it finally happened. . . and it was a huge success! Reno is just far enough away from San Francisco to make it an all day venture to attend a national seminar. So. . . our photographer's networking group. . . Commonly Different, decided to bring the workshop to Reno! Innovative Perspectives was held in Reno in early November at Johnstone Studios and boasts the expertise of instructors Tourine and Trevor Johnstone, Michael Escalera, and Michael Imus. Together, they make up the group Commonly Different, and share a common goal to provide exceptional photography to the Reno/Lake Tahoe clients that come to Lake Tahoe to exchange their nuptials. Not only are these photographers amazing at what they do, but they had a great time sharing the ins and outs of business with budding photographers that participated in the two-day workshop. For excerpts from the workshop, check out these blogs. . . . www. johnstonestudios. com/blog, michaelimus. net, laketahoeweddingphotojournalist. com.
