Bridal Portraits in Raleigh, NC - 08/28/10 11:39 AM
I went out earlier this week and photographed a few bridal portraits for myself. Bridal portraits in Raleigh, NC can take on many different feelings and, for this one, as it was for me, I wanted to do something a little more classic and iconic. Kim, my lovely bride, is actually not a bride (she is not a model either). Her friends talked he into coming out and helping a group of wedding photographers that I help run. Kim really rocked this session and we ended up with some lovely & dramatic bridal portraits. Hope you enjoy!

With the wedding season slowing down a bit I am finally getting a chance to show some of the different work I do. I have been quite busy as my Raleigh Family Photographer business has been soaring recently! This latest session was so fun because it was a total surprise to my "clients". Their friend, Karen, treated them to a day spa for their birthdays (yes, both of them) and, unknowingly, my services as well. We met on a street corner in downtown Raleigh and after talking with Karen for a moment, they were finally let in on the surprise. Needless to say, they were surprised and overjoyed as well. We had a great time and defintiely kept this family portrait session more edgy and fashion inspired. I hope you enjoy a few photos!

Continuing what was supposed to be a "slow" month, my lastest photography client is a photographer herself. Jenn &Chris needed some new family photos as, well, their family has been updated. I also did Jenn's maternity photos so was thrilled to be back to shoot her family portraits in Raleigh NC. We had a big plan to hit the downtown area but mother nature convinced us we should stay indoors. Lightning has a funny way to make you really enjoy being inside.
Anyways, we ended up shooting their family portrait session in their livign room and, honestly, I think it was more meaningful as they now have familiar surroundings that will trigger different memories in twenty years from now. Anyway, hope you enjoy a few photographer from their session!

As weddings slow down during the hot & sticky summer months, my clientele for Raleigh Senior Portraits really pick up. The more senior portraits I work on, the more I realize how enjoyable it is as, artistically speaking, I have more flexibility with the posing, lighting and overall appearance of the photography. While Senior portraits in Raleigh do maintain a certain southern charm and elegance, I match each senior photography session to my client so we get a truly unique feel to each portrait session. I vividly remember my senior year in High School and, to be honest, wish this was more popular when I graduated as I have very few "good" photos from that time of my life.
Leigh, my Raleigh senior photography client decided on an urban session so we headed into downtown Raleigh for a "walkabout". Not having a set gameplan really allows for freedom to go wherever your client takes you and explicitly shows their personality, sense of style and confidence. I hope you enjoy a few photos from my recent session with Leigh!

As the weddings slow down a bit to avoid the sultry and oppresive heat we have in Raleigh, it's a great time to work on my clients engagement pictures. This week I headed into downtown Raleigh with my clients to use the architectural and artistic backdrop of the downtown area to get more of an urban feel to their engagement photography. They were great to work with, despite the heat, and we ended up with some beautiful engagment photos for them to enjoy.
