Entering the portrait field from an art photography perspective, I bring to it a desire to connect with the person in front of my lens. To draw them out and capture pieces of their personalities and their souls in photos. My approach to a portrait session is quite different. You won't always see my camera immediately when I arrive. I spend time getting to know you or your kids, and during that time I can start to see that special look that's all your own, the way your child smiles at you, or looks up to her big brother, or even the way your newborn's peach fuzz shimmers in the window light. Those are the little things that tell your story, that create your memories. And so those are the little things I see and capture in your portraits. ~ Lauri
