What’s a Blurbit? Well, if you like blogging, then you’ll love blurbiting. Blurbits are photographik’s version of blogs. We know that most of you already maintain a blog but the cool thing about photographik’s Blurbits is that you’ll be able to reach a larger audience of both photographers and photography service seekers.
Members who have been accepted to the directory will be able to post and manage their own Blurbit area. In this area, you’ll be able to write about anything and everything related to photography, the photography industry, your latest photo shoot, your fancy new Nikon… you get the idea.
Think of Blurbits as a community of blogs that all have at least two things in common: the Blurbiters are all photographers AND Directory Certified members of photographik.
Ever hear of Wikipedia? If so, you’ll know that sharing knowledge and information has become very fashionable. We envision Blurbits becoming a robust knowledge, opinion and learning resource that will be of interest to web users the world over. And that means more eyeballs looking at your words and images.
Blurbits are hosted on the photographik website and will be fully searchable and readable by the public. Further, anyone will be able to leave comments on your latest Blurbit entry. And members of photographik can even track their favorite Blurbiters.

One good reason is the fact that member Blurbits are heavily promoted on the new photographik website and will attract a lot of eyeballs. Not only will the latest Blurbits always be featured on the homepage, they also have their own main navigation page. And Blurbits will also be accessible from the photographer’s profile page.
By creating a centralized system of “blogs,” we’re creating a knowledge and information resource that will be easy and fun to use. The reader will be able to search, find and read dozens of the latest Blurbits easily and quickly. We think that hosting a community of Blurbits on our servers will help drive even more traffic to the photographik.org website and give people a reason to hang out for awhile.
